Sherried single malts have played a huge part in the history of Signatory Vintage, a Pitlochry-based independent bottler of Scottish single malt and single grain whiskies. The company was established in the late 1980s by founder Andrew Symington, a veteran of the Scottish hospitality trade whose very first trade purchase for his new company was a batch of classic sherried Speyside single malt distilled at Glenlivet in 1968.

Signatory’s early bottlings of incredible sherried single malt whisky are now legendary, with a string of phenomenal single cask and small batch sherried whiskies released in the 1990s from distilleries including Macallan, Dalmore, Glenfarclas and Ardbeg that pushed the envelope for full-flavoured sherry bomb single malt whiskies and established Signatory as one of Scotland’s best whisky bottlers.

The vast majority of Signatory’s famous single cask and small batch bottlings of sherried single malt whisky are released without colouring or chill filtration and bottled at the easy-drinking strength of 46% or at their natural cask strength. In recent times, Signatory have continued to bottle magnificent great value sherried whiskies from Highland Park, Bowmore, Ledaig, Ben Nevis and Glen Grant.
