Dràm Mòr is one of the new wave of Scottish independent whisky bottlers. The company was founded in Dunbartonshire as Baltic Business Connections by husband and wife team Kenny and Viktorija Macdonald in 2013, and originally served as an export agency for Scottish distilleries and brands before changing its name to Dràm Mòr (the name is Gaelic for Big Whisky) and moving into independent bottling and cask brokerage towards the end of 2019.
Dràm Mòr’s export contacts from their agency business proved invaluable in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the company’s excellent single cask releases now enjoy international distribution. Like most of their contemporaries on the indie bottling scene nowadays, Dràm Mòr eschew chill filtration and added colouring, and the vast majority of their whiskies are bottled at cask strength.
Dràm Mòr releases occasional rum and armagnac bottlings in addition to single malt and grain whiskies, and recently introduced a blended malt named Dumbarton Rock after the local medieval castle.
