Dun Bheagan is an ancient Gaelic village on the Isle of Skye and it is where the seat of Clan Macleod has been since the 13th century. Rumour has it that it has been the home of many illicit distilleries over the years and is where the art of whisky-making has been passed down through generations.
The whiskies in the Dun Bheagan series are a collection of single cask and small batch single malts that are all aged at the distillery of production and then carefully sampled and selected by the Ian Macleod malt team. Once they are deemed perfect for consumption they are bottled unchill-filtered and natural in colour.
Chieftain's is an award-winning series from distillery owner and independent bottler Ian Macleod Distillers. The series is a collection of rare malts, some of which are from closed or mothballed distilleries, Each bottle clearly states the wood type, distillation and bottling date and cask number.
As ever these bottlings are unchill-filtered and contain no additional colour. This range is perfect for anyone looking for those whiskies that are not commonly bottled as single malts but by fine independent bottlers like Ian Macleod.
