This 12-year-old Strathmill 2012 was bottled from a small batch of first fill Oloroso sherry butts at the 100-Proof standard strength of 57.1%. Strathmill is a particularly obscure Diageo workhorse distillery, making clean, grassy, mediumweight single malt whisky predominantly for the J&B blended Scotch whisky brand, so this heavily-sherried, high octane small batch is something of a change of pace for the distillery and should be a real treat.
