Royal Lochnagar 1974 30-year-old was released in 2004 as the third and final Rare Malts edition of Royal Lochnagar, and was the oldest ever official bottling from the distillery until the release of the 1978 36-year-old in 2015.
Bottled at a robust 56.2%, Royal Lochnagar 1974 30-year-old is a resolutely old school Highland style whisky, and is a deeply complex dram showing a wide array of waxy, oily, grassy, nutty, citrus fruity flavours with a seriously robust spicy kick. An epic whisky that demands serious attention.
