Join the Whisky-Online Auctions team and our special guest star Lee 'Connas' Connor for a three-part series of First Cask whisky tastings hosted on Zoom. Each event will feature seven rare vintage drams bottled over 20 years ago. This exciting line-up has been selected from Whisky-Online Auctions’ private stock especially for this unique series of virtual whisky tastings.
The tastings will take place on the following dates:
Virtual Whisky Tasting Part 1: 26th March 2021 7.30pm GMT £84
Virtual Whisky Tasting Part 2: 23rd April 2021 7.30pm BST £60
Virtual Whisky Tasting Part 3: 14th May 2021 7.30pm BST £100
You don't have to join all three tastings, but if you do want to take part we recommend securing your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
All 21 First Cask whiskies chosen for this one-off series of tastings were originally released by a little-known independent bottler called Direct Wines (better known for supplying wine rather than whisky, as you might have guessed), who bottled a staggering array of vintage whiskies in the nineties and noughties under the First Cask label... but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Find out more about First Cask’s history on the night…

Stock & condition information
Stock & condition information
All stock not designated as pre-owned has been sourced directly from suppliers, distributors, importers or authorised agents.
Whilst these items have not previously been owned, minor imperfections to labels, cartons, presentation boxes or packaging can occur during production, storage or transportation before reaching us. Such imperfections do not indicate that an item is pre-owned or defective.
Images used for new stock on our website are for illustrative purposes only. In most cases, a single representative image is used for products where multiple bottles are held in stock. Packaging, labels, capsule colours, bottle shapes, presentation boxes and other design elements may vary from the image shown due to manufacturer updates, batch variations or regional packaging differences.
Where possible, we endeavour to keep images up to date, however the bottle supplied may differ slightly from the image displayed. Unless specifically shown in the product image or stated in the description, no presentation box or additional packaging should be assumed to be included.
Customers seeking pristine packaging should contact us before purchasing if condition is of particular importance.
Corks, seals & closures
Corks, seals & closures
Cork and seal failure are inherent risks associated with bottled spirits. While these issues are more commonly encountered with older and pre-owned bottles, they can also occur in modern, factory-sealed products.
Cork is a natural material and may contain irregularities, air pockets or weaknesses that can affect its integrity over time. As corks age, they may dry out, shrink, become brittle or otherwise deteriorate, increasing the risk of leakage, evaporation and breakage.
To help preserve the condition of the closure, we strongly recommend storing all spirit bottles upright. Unlike wine, prolonged contact between high-strength alcohol and the cork may cause deterioration and increase the risk of failure.
When opening any bottle fitted with a cork stopper, there is always a risk that the cork may break, crumble or otherwise fail, regardless of how carefully the bottle is opened. This risk is particularly pronounced with older bottles. We therefore recommend keeping suitable replacement corks available where appropriate.
The condition and integrity of a cork or seal cannot be fully assessed without opening the bottle. Accordingly, Whisky-Online Ltd cannot guarantee the future performance of any cork, seal or closure. The age of a bottle should not be taken as an indication of the condition of its cork or seal, as deterioration can occur regardless of age, provenance or storage history.
Whisky-Online Ltd accepts no liability for:
- Cork failure, seal failure or closure failure.
- Leakage, evaporation, ullage changes or loss of liquid occurring before, during or after transit.
- Corks breaking, crumbling or otherwise failing during the opening of a bottle.
- Any damage, loss or reduction in value resulting from cork, seal or closure failure.
By purchasing bottled spirits from Whisky-Online Ltd, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.
