This 19-year-old Orkney (HP) 2005 came from single cask 31, which was a first fill Oloroso sherry butt cask that yielded 626 bottles at a robust but not overwhelming natural cask strength of 54.4%.
It's great for punters that Edrington are releasing these HPs and the secret Macallans to indie bottlers, though the fact that they obviously don't think they can sell whisky of this age and excellent quality fast enough at the prices they want to must raise concerns about their business model and/or the state of the wider market.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
