This Old Perth Palo Cortado Limited Edition was a limited edition of 7800 bottles and includes single malt whiskies from three mystery Speyside distilleries, all fully matured in sherry hogshead casks that previously were home to Palo Cortado sherry, a rare and delicious dry sherry that rests stylistically somewhere between Amontillado and Oloroso.
Old Perth Palo Cortado has been bottled at its sturdy natural cask strength of 55.8% and looks like a must-have for fans of full strength sherried Speyside drams.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.

I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
