Voted 'Best of the Best' by Whisky Magazine in 2001, finished in first-fill bourbon hogsheads and produced on the island of Hokkaido, the spot chosen by Masataka Taketsuru for its resemblence to Scotland. The distilleries water source is flows through peat marshes which is clearly present in the whiskies from this distillery.
A single malt whisky from the Yoichi distillery, Matured for a minimum of 12 years, aroma of aged casks tinged with gentle peat and a rich and long-lasting finish.
