A single cask Macallan 1973 bottled as a 20-year-old in the mid-1990s by Direct Wines for their First Cask series of mail-order single malt whiskies.
Bottled at 46% from a single Oloroso sherry cask #10213, this 20-year-old Macallan 1973 is a rare independent bottling from the distillery, although an equally excellent sister cask #10212 was bottled in 1993 by Signatory Vintage, who supplied a lot of stock for the First Cask series.

I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
