Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 43%

A scarce official bottling of heavily peated Ledaig single malt, distilled in 1974 and bottled in 1996 at 43% ABV. Produced during one of the distillery's brief periods of operation under the Ledaig name, this whisky captures a fascinating chapter in the history of the Isle of Mull distillery.

Following its closure in 1930, the distillery reopened in 1972, producing peated spirit under the Ledaig name until 1975 before shutting once again. When production resumed in 1979 under the Tobermory name, these remaining 1974 casks quietly matured until Burn Stewart selected them for a series of official vintage releases during the mid-1990s. Today, these bottlings are regarded as some of the earliest modern official Ledaigs and offer a style of heavily peated island whisky rarely encountered.

Elegant and gently smoky, this 1974 vintage balances earthy peat with citrus, coastal minerality, soft tropical fruit and subtle waxy complexity, showcasing a remarkably refined interpretation of Ledaig's historic spirit. An increasingly difficult bottle to find, it remains highly sought after by collectors of vintage official bottlings and enthusiasts of Tobermory's unique history.
