Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46.8%
Part of Laphroaig's acclaimed annual cask strength series, this 2015 release of the distillery's 25-year-old Islay single malt was matured in a combination of selected bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at its natural strength of 48.6% ABV. Released during the tenure of legendary Distillery Manager John Campbell, it showcases a beautifully balanced marriage of mature Laphroaig's medicinal peat smoke, coastal character and rich oak-driven complexity.
The influence of the bourbon barrels brings classic notes of vanilla, honey, citrus fruits and gentle coconut, while the Oloroso sherry casks add layers of dried fruits, dark chocolate, polished oak and warming spice. After a quarter of a century in cask, the result is an elegant and refined Laphroaig that retains the distillery's unmistakable smoky identity while offering remarkable depth and sophistication.

I really shouldn't share how good this whisky is as I don't want it to sell out. One of the few non sherried releases in this series and therefore quite different from most I have tried before. Absolutely delicious whisky.
