Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Duncan Taylor 70cl / 54.7%
Indie Laphroaigs are always welcome, so we were delighted to grab a few bottles of this Laphroaig 2011, a 9-year-old that was recasked into one of Duncan Taylor's re-coopered Octave sherry casks (No. 5628745 for the trainspotters) for five months to add some dried fruits to its Islay fire - a bold move, but one that's likely to pay off for fans of peat and sherry (and there are many).
Bottled in 2021, just 78 bottles of this Laphroaig 2011 Octave were yielded at cask strength of 54.7%. Needless to say, this won't be around for long.
