Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 42.6%
The Kininvie distillery came about due to single malt stock pressures at William Grant and Sons. They needed to keep all of Glenfiddich's spirit for their own production but still needed a single malt to go into their blended whiskies like Monkey Shoulder more recently.
Kininvie doesn't have its own mash house so this takes place at Balvenie and then it is pumped back to the stillhouse at Kininvie.
Kininvie worked around the clock to keep up with the demand to produce single malt for William Grant and Sons blends but they also produced other bottlings occasionally such as Hazelwood and also this distillery bottling produced for Travel Retail.
This 17-year-old release was distilled in 1996 at 42.6% exclusively for travel retail.
