Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 55.6%
An official Rare Malts Inchgower 1976, bottled as a 27-year-old in 2004, in the penultimate tranche of the famous Rare Malts bottlings.
Inchgower was not unknown back then but it was rather obscure and the only previous official bottlings were an entry-level 12-year-old which appeared occasionally in the 1970s and 1980s, and its replacement 14-year-old in the Flora & Fauna series.
This was the only Rare Malts Inchgower and it's an absolute belter, with the cask strength of 55.6% and the extra years of ageing revealing the oily, intense maltiness and tropical fruit flavours this unsung distillery can produce given the requisite patient maturation.
