This 18-year-old Glenlivet 2006 came from single cask 901016, which was a first fill Oloroso sherry butt cask that yielded 558 bottles at a particularly potent natural cask strength of 59%. Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
