Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 55.9%
After the triumph of Glenallachie 10-Year-Old Cask Strength Batch 3, which scooped Best Speyside Single Malt at the 2020 World Whisky Awards, hopes are high for 2021's Batch 5, which no doubt will sell out shortly after I've finished writing this description.
Nonetheless, it's our duty to inform you that Glenallachie 10-Year-Old Batch 5 is a limited edition assembled from a mix of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheons combined with a small number of virgin oak and Rioja wine casks, all of which were personally selected by Glenallachie maestro Billy Walker and bottled at a cask strength of 55.9% without colouring or chill filtration.
We're already jealous of the lucky few who'll get their hands on this one.
