This Sovereign 26-year-old Girvan 1988 came from Cask 11119, a single refill hogshead that yielded 283 bottles at its natural cask strength of 56.3%. This was the first of three 1988 Girvan single casks bottled by the company and will be a sweet treat for fans of long-aged grain whisky.

Pale gold coloured with rich mellow sweet nose - toffee apples & a floral aroma. Sweet on the palate with creme brulee & apple skins. A long, pleasant dry finish with a slightly sweet aftertaste and a hint of oak.

I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
