Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Signatory Vintage 70cl / 63.9%
Deanston is another distillery whose wares are now being championed by indie bottlers as the supply of casks from more famous distilleries gets pricier. It's a well-run distillery from a small stable that also includes Bunnahabhain and Tobermory, both of whom are also seeing the benefits of Distell's stewardship.
Happily, the likes of Signatory are now digging out gems like this first fill sherry cask from the 2007 vintage - and bottling it at its frankly outrageous full cask strength of 63.9%. 613 bottles came out of this cask, suggesting that during its 13 years of ageing there wasn't much evaporation. This is going to be an absolute whopper, seriously.
