Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 56.6%
A 16-year-old Caol Ila 2006 bottled in 2022 for Batch 11 of Alistair Walker's Infrequent Flyers range without colouring or chill filtration.
This Caol Ila 2006 16-year-old was finished in a Moscatel sherry hogshead single cask #6441, which turned out an impressive 317 bottles at a hearty 56.6%. Incidentally, Moscatel is the same type of sherry cask used for the Caol Ila Distillers Edition, so anyone who likes that one will be very happy with this.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Colour: Tawny.
Nose: Like a New York sidewalk – toasted, sugared pecans and honey-roasted cashews, with a side of churros. Sweet tobacco and peat mingle with fruity red wine notes.
Palate: Rich, lush and intense. Treacle toffee and burnt Demerara sugars against a backdrop of sweet peat and toasted marzipan; a phenolic crème brûlée drizzled with sweet balsamic glaze (a strange dessert choice, granted…).
