Lowland Single Grain Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Signatory Vintage 70cl / 55.3%
Situated near the Lowlands' northern border between Stirling and Alloa, the Cambus distillery was one of Scotland's oldest grain distilleries but sadly closed in 1993. Cambus's output was significant but 1993 was a long time ago and the youngest stocks will be reaching 30 years old soon, so it's difficult to know how much more of it we'll see.
In the meantime, to console us from such melancholy thoughts, here's a delightful Signatory-bottled Cambus from the 1991 vintage, bottled from a refill sherry butt in 2018 as a 26-year-old. An impressive 486 bottles were turned out of Cask 55894 at an equally impressive 55.3%. This should be delightful.
