Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 48.5%
Release number 29 is another cracker from Bowmore Distillery.
This is another standout whisky in the batch of release but very different from the last Bowmore release, this being aged in a virgin oak barrel as opposed to a PX hogshead.
This Bowmore was distilled in 1997 and aged in a single virgin oak barrel #2692 until it was bottled 23 years later at a natural cask strength of 48.5% with a yield of just 204 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Rich gold.
Nose: That unmistakable sweet cigar smoke aroma of Bowmore - peat, iodine, marzipan and floral notes.
Taste: Soft and creamy. Slightly medicinal. Hard candy and apricots. The virgin oak cask brings vanilla, coconut, almonds and Demerara sugar. All alongside soft, sweet peat.
Finish: Lingering, spicy and sweet, with delicate peat.
