Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Signatory Vintage 70cl / 59.4%
They're a clever bunch up at Signatory, and clearly they've got a pretty good connection over in Jerez. This batch of releases is stuffed with outrageously dark sherried single malts.
This highly desirable Benriach 2000 began its maturation in refill sherry butts before being re-racked into what must have been a particularly active fresh sherry butt for the final eight months - evidently more than enough time for it to pick up a gorgeous chestnut brown colour and, no doubt, bags of lovely fruity sherry flavours.
That sherry cask yielded 692 bottles at a whopping 59.4% and it goes without saying that this will be an amazing dram.
