A delicious single cask peated Benriach bottled in 2016 as a UK exclusive. This smoky Benriach was distilled in 1994 and aged in a bourbon barrel before being bottled as a 22-year-old in November 2016.
Benriach 1994 Cask 2859 yielded an impressive 271 bottles at a natural cask strength of 52.7%, pretty much a perfect strength for a whisky of this age. This unusually smoky peated Benriach ticks all the boxes.

Nose: Burning heather smoke flows over green pears and ripe apricots, with a crisp citrus twist and a barley grist back note.
Palate: A delicious campfire peat reek engulfs green apples and yellow plums, spiced with ground white pepper. Fresh barley and brittle toffee appear in the long, unique finish.

I bought this as a present then did the tour with my brother at Lindores Abbey distillery in Newburgh Fife.The bottle i bought from Whisky-online was cheaper than at Lindores ,very happy again and a very quick delivery.
