Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 47.8%
Traditional Speyside single malt whisky doesn't get much better than Balvenie, and the distillery's 15-year-old single barrel bottlings have long been the best quality to value pick in the range.
Originally ex-bourbon or 'traditional' (refill) casks bottled at 50.4%, the strength of these bottlings changed to 47.8% in 2003, and in 2014 sherry casks were added to the selection - a very welcome development. This particular cask 11197 is one of only a handful of sherried Balvenie 15-year-olds bottled in 2020 and if you like sherried Speyside whisky it's as close to a sure thing as you're ever likely to find.
