Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 50cl / 46%
Hot on the heels of the multi-award winning 2018 1st release is this 2019 release of 1770 from The Glasgow Distillery Company. This 2019 limited edition release of 1770 has been matured in first-fill bourbon casks and finished in virgin oak casks to give a lovely smooth roundness to the whisky.
The whisky was handcrafted in the distilleries copper pot stills called Tara and Mhairi. This, coupled with using high-quality Scottish barley and pure water from Loch Katrine makes 1770 a real treat of a dram full of red berries, pear, toffee, vanilla and citrus.
2018 saw a landmark in the company’s distilling history, as their first single malt spirit – the first malt whisky to be distilled in Glasgow since 1902 – finally reached maturity. 1770 Glasgow Single Malt has made a bit of a splash since its first appearance, winning Gold Medals at the Scotch Whisky Masters, the International Spirits Challenge, the San Francisco World Spirits Competitions and the International Whisky Competition in Las Vegas, where it also took the title of Best Lowland Malt
