An exceptionally rare factory-sealed original case containing twelve individually boxed 70cl bottles of Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky. Still sealed with its original Chivas Brothers branded tape, this case has remained unopened since leaving the distributor. Comparison with another case bearing the same factory markings, which has since been opened, confirms the contents to be twelve original boxed bottles.

This is a fascinating mid-1970s Swiss-market release, imported by Hans U. Bon S.A., Zurich, the long-established importer responsible for distributing many of the world's leading Scotch whisky brands throughout Switzerland during the second half of the twentieth century.

Although presented in the uncommon 70cl format for this period, the bottles display a number of features associated with Chivas Regal bottlings from the 1970s. These include the earlier Chivas Brothers coat of arms used before the redesign introduced during the late 1970s, together with the "By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen" Royal Warrant wording that also disappeared from labels in the late 1970s. While 70cl bottles are often associated with later production, export markets occasionally adopted metric bottle sizes earlier than the UK.

This example retains its original printed handling instructions, including "This Side Up" and "Strength 35 Overproof", together with its factory-applied case markings, product codes and original Chivas Brothers sealing tape.

The original outer carton carries rotation 1974 case markings, matching another identical case that has been opened and examined. Adding to its provenance, this sealed case was acquired directly from the family of the original owner, who confirmed it formed part of the whisky purchased for a family wedding held in 1978, where it remained unused and in storage for more than four decades.

The original factory carton is manufactured by John Laird & Son, Glasgow and retains its original Chivas Brothers sealing tape together with FPCMA export certification markings and period handling instructions. Although the case markings are not themselves production dates, they are consistent with Chivas Brothers export packaging used during the mid-1970s and support the estimated bottling period of the mid-1970s when considered alongside the bottles' labels, Swiss importer and provenance.
