This special edition comes in a lovely etched decanter with stopper and even a tasting sample miniature 5cl bottle of the same whisky.
Signatory bottled some truly stunning whiskies for this anniversary in 1998 and this 40-year-old Glenfarclas sherry butt was bottled in November as the pick of the bunch, yielding a total of 496 bottles at its intense natural cask strength of 52.5%. A magnificent long-aged classic Glenfarclas vintage from a pristine sherry cask that gave the resulting dram an extraordinary intensity, showing rich Dundee cake, polished wood, stewed fruit like prunes and dates and a delicious tangy spiciness.
