This 100-Proof Edition 14-year-old Ardmore 2011 matured in second fill Oloroso sherry butts and has been bottled without colouring or chill filtration at the old imperial 100-Proof, equivalent to 57.1%. This looks like a snip at the price.
Wonderful whisky, plenty of complexity..smokey and peaty but not over the top. Nice sweeter, dried fruit notes to balance it all up...delightful!

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
