An old bottle of Laphroaig 10 Year Old 'Unblended' Islay single malt whisky, released in 1986 at the height of the distillery's famed fruity period. During the 1970s and 1980s, Laphroaig used the term 'Unblended' to emphasise that the whisky came entirely from a single distillery and had not been mixed with grain whisky or spirit from elsewhere – terminology that would later be replaced by the now universally recognised Single Malt designation.

These 'Unblended' editions of Laphroaig 10 Year Old from the 1980s have become increasingly sought-after by enthusiasts and collectors, and are now exceptionally difficult to find. They capture a celebrated era in the distillery's history, often referred to as Laphroaig's famed "fruity period", when the unmistakable medicinal peat was joined by an extraordinary depth of tropical fruit character.
