Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 26 2/3 Fl Oz / 70 Proof
The 1939 Glenlivet's, like many of the aged Speysiders by G&M, were noticeably smokier and peatier but with equally intense and luscious fruit quality.
Whisky making from a different era entirely. 1939 is the year when distilling in Scotland really started to slow down due to wartime constraints.
These 1939s offer a great glimpse into how the whisky styles of that era were evolving into something heavier.
After the war, they would never really be the same again. Again, liquid history.
