Lowland Single Malt Whisky
Bottled By: Distillery 70cl / 43%
The 2022 release of double matured Classic Malts Glenkinchie Distillers Edition, which first appeared in the late 1990s and is given a secondary maturation period in casks seasoned with Amontillado sherry.
The Distillers Edition Glenkinchie has often flown under the radar, but this is a very enjoyable, easy-drinking Glenkinchie with plenty going on in the flavour department and is well worth a revisit if you haven't tried it for a while.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Appearance: Harvest gold. Fine beading. Long thin legs.
Body: Light to medium.
Nose: Crisp, yet well-formed, and complex. Nicely balanced between the drier notes from the wine and sweeter, nutty notes of barley and cask wood.
Palate: Lightly oily, and sweetly malty in taste to start, then soon spicy, with rich dried fruit hints of raisin and date. Creamy-smooth, the lightly grapey sweetness is crisply balanced by warming wood-spice as it dries from mid-palate on.
Finish: Really long, attractively drying and oaky, while lightly white pepper-spicy. Appealing aftertaste.
