Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 40%
Fettercairn is a distillery that many whisky fans have never bothered to try, mostly due to lack of availability or the justifiably poor reputation of some of the older official bottlings from the 1990s and 1980s.
Fettercairn's owners Whyte & Mackay were themselves taken over by Emperador in 2014, and the Fettercairn range was relaunched in 2018, replacing the previous Fior and Fasque expressions.
This bourbon-matured 12-year-old is a reboot of entry-level Fettercairn, combining sweet patisserie and chocolate flavours with a hint of old-school Fettercairn funk in the background. Hopefully its gentle Highland style can win this largely ignored distillery a few more fans.
