Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
An old bottle of Dalmore 1995 Castle Leod Highland single malt whisky. This was bottled in 2011 as the second of three special edition Dalmores celebrating the historic Clan Mackenzie, who owned the Dalmore distillery for over a century. Castle Leod is the traditional family seat of the Mackenzie clan.
This Dalmore 1995 was matured initially in a combination of American white oak and Spanish sherry wood before being re-racked for an 18-month finishing period in wine barriques that previously held a prestigious first-growth claret. Dalmore 1995 Castle Leod was a small batch of just 5000 bottles and was released at the unusually hearty strength of 46%, making it one of the most interesting of the distillery’s limited editions of the period.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
