Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled By: Glenallachie Distillers 70cl / 48%
MacNair's is the premium spirits arm of Billy Walker's Glenallachie Distillers, and they are really upping the ante with their latest high class blended malts and rums. This 21-year-old Lum Reek won World's Best Blended Malt at the 2020 World Whisky Awards, and scored a massive 96 points at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.
MacNair's 21-year-old Lum Reek peated blended malt whisky is one of the most exciting of the new blended malt whiskies on the block. Like the younger 12-year-old, Lum Reek's recipe comprises Glenallachie single malt with some other sourced Speyside and Islay single malts, blended together and then married in a mix of finishing casks - in this case they used French oak, sherry casks and virgin oak casks - before bottling at a muscular 48%.
If you love your Speyside whiskies, but also like a whiff of smoke in your dram, Lum Reek's 21-year-old smoky, sherried blended malt will be right up your street.
