A hugely important bottling from the late 1990s, Macallan 1946 52-year-old Speyside single malt whisky is a very rare example of smoky Macallan. This is the US Import 750ml edition of this iconic Macallan official bottling, which first hit the shelves in 1998 and has been top of many Macallan fans' wishlists ever since.

After the end of WWII a shortage of coal forced Macallan - along with many other distilleries - to revert to using peat to dry their barley, resulting in a thread of smoky flavour in the whisky in the immediate postwar years. This elegantly presented 52-year-old Macallan 1946 is a stellar performer at whisky auctions, with its great age and peat-assisted depth and complexity giving it a legendary status among aficionados.  One of the most sought-after whiskies from this distillery, and with good reason.
