Indian Single Malt Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
A bottle of Indri Trini Three Wood Batch 23 Indian single matl whisky, released in 2024. Indri Trini Three Wood is matured in a mix of bourbon, sherry and French wine casks and bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration. An earlier version of this fulsomely-flavoured dram was crowned Best Indian Single Malt at the 2022 World Whisky Awards.
Indri distillery is located in the city of the same name in the foothills of the Himalayas north of New Delhi and is part of the Piccadily group, India's largest independent malt whisky distillers. Indri's single malt is created by Master Distiller & Blender Surrinder Kumar, formerly of Amrut, from traditional local six-row barley and is made with 100% renewable energy.
Indri distillery has existed since 1994, but it is only since 2010 that Piccadily began working towards a single malt whisky that met European standards, having previously made molasses and grain-based Indian whisky and spirits for the domestic market. The distillery has its own maltings and is relatively large, with a malt production capacity of around 4m litres pa.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Gentle and mellow on the nose. Hints of black tea, caramelized pineapple with a whiff of oak comes forward, followed by vanilla and honey from the bourbon oak and traces of spiced tannins from the European oak, finally topped up with vinous raisin and sweet sherry notes.
Palate: Elegant richness, smooth and warm on the sides of the mouth. Gentle spice and wood characters come through, followed by nutty flavours and hints of burnt pineapple, citrus and raisins.
Finish: A subtle and balanced finish, each flavour compliments one another without dominating. A smooth and long after taste with sweet fruity flavours coming up from the warmth of the throat, lingering long after.

The value is there for sure and it is definitely worth a buy, but there is a slight punch to it, bordering ever so slightly on that sulphuric taste you sometimes get with sherry butts. Not as rounded or soft as I'd have expected for a 13 yr old. Still great though.
Linkwood 17 Year Old Signatory Vintage Exceptional Cask 100 Proof Edition
Beautiful colour. Fruitcake and chocolate on the nose. I could sniff it for hours. The palate is rich full and well rounded with no sulphur or off notes. With a treacly mouth feel (beautiful legs!) and a long silky finish this is one to cherish. Incredible value at £70!
An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
