Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 46%
A bottle of Glenburgie 25-year-old bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their splendid Distillery Labels range.
Glenburgie is a great distillery but the vast majority of its output is earmarked for owner Pernod Ricard's Ballantine's blended Scotch and until recently official releases of Glenburgie were almost non-existent, leaving Gordon & MacPhail's licensed releases as de facto official bottlings.
However, an official core range Glenburgie 15-year-old was released by Ballantine's in 2017, and subsequent small batch G&M releases from the distillery seem to be creeping up in age. This non-vintage Glenburgie 25-year-old from G&M made its debut in 2023, following in the footsteps of the popular G&M Glenburgie 21-year-old, which has been bottled regularly since 2014.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
