Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 40%
An old bottle of Glen Ord 12-year-old Northern Highland single malt whisky, bottled around the turn of the millennium at 40%.
This handsome old Glen Ord comes from the distillery's much-loved “I Shine Not Burn” era, named after the motto of Clan Mackenzie, whose association with the Ord estate stretches back centuries. The expression was a longstanding official bottling before Glen Ord's range was subsequently redesigned, with the familiar oval-labelled presentation giving way to a new style in the early 2000s.
Glen Ord is one of the great traditional Northern Highland distilleries, founded in 1838 at Muir of Ord on the Black Isle. Older bottlings such as this 12-year-old have developed a strong following among drinkers, offering a chance to try Glen Ord from well before the distillery became closely associated with The Singleton range.
A lovely old-school Highland malt from an increasingly sought-after period of Glen Ord's history.

Bunnahabhain is my favourite range of unpeated whisky, there are many choices. My initial taste was a little disappointing but the high strength 8 year old whisky gave another choice. I would buy again on reflection.
