A 1964 Chateau de Gaube Bas Armagnac bottled as a 58-year-old in 2022 by master negociants Darroze for their Unique Collection at 43%, which in this case is likely to be close to a natural cask strength.
Darroze are the greatest bottlers of Armagnac, tirelessly sourcing the best stocks from the finest producers in the Bas Armagnac region, and Chateau de Gaube is one of the shiniest stars in their portfolio. An almost bewilderingly complex spirit, aged in large oak vats before being decanted into demijohns for further resting once it reaches its peak, and bottled only to order in tiny quantities. A fabulous gift for any spirits-lover from the 1964 vintage.

I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
