A single cask Bowmore 1998 23-year-old Islay single malt whisky bottled in 2021 without colouring or chill filtration by Berry Bros & Rudd for their Exceptional Casks range.
This Exceptional Casks 23-year-old Bowmore 1998 came from cask 803732, a single hogshead that yielded an impressive 278 bottles at its natural cask strength of 50.2%. Mid to late 1990s vintage Bowmores are now recognised as some of the greatest whisky made at the distillery since the late 1970s, and this delightful dram has a great balance of tart, grapefruity citrus, melon, exotic fruits and floral, grassy peat. A treasure.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
