A superb Benromach 40-year-old, the second batch of the distillery’s 2022 release, following the award-winning Batch 1 which received a Double Gold Medal and was named Best in Show at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Batch 2 was bottled in 2022 from a selection of 40-year-old Benromach matured in sherry casks. Just 1,098 bottles were released at a powerful natural cask strength of 56.5%, continuing the full-strength style introduced with the previous batch.

A magnificent old Benromach from stocks distilled around the early 1980s, combining four decades of maturation with the rich sherry character and subtle smoky edge for which the distillery’s older whisky is particularly prized.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe red apple aromas infuse with fragrant clove and ginger spice. Dried fruit notes develop alongside tangerine peel and subtle beeswax polish.

Palate: Orange oil gives way to a stewed raisin with spicy black pepper. Raspberry compote and walnut flavours lead to soft dried tobacco and charred oak.

Finish: A full, lingering finish with festive spices.
