Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 52.0%
Release number 30 is the second undisclosed Orkney whisky release under the Infrequent Flyers range. The first Orkney released was back in 2019 and was matured in a single hogshead.
This whisky was distilled in 1999 and aged in a single PX sherry puncheon #5743 until it was bottled 21 years later at a natural cask strength of 52.0% with a yield of 674 bottles.
If you were quick enough to grab the last Orkney release then this will be great to compare the two different cask maturations (if you have any left that is).

Tasting Notes
Colour: Dark mahogany.
Nose: Deep - you could nose this all day. There's a maturity here. Raisins, toasted treacle and muscovado sugar. A hint of smoke.
Taste: Dark chocolate, treacle toffee and cinnamon rolls. Stewed sultanas. This is a velvety and indulgent dram. A subtle smokehouse flavour emerges upon further investigation.
Finish: Long and rich, with a spicy bite at the end, coupled with a very light hint of smoke.
