Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 57.7%
New on our shop we have the Autumn 2020 releases from Alistair Walkers Infrequent Flyers series.
Release number 24 is another beauty from an undisclosed distillery on our favourite Isle of Islay. This whisky was distilled in 2006 and aged in a single hogshead #306127 until it was bottled 14 years later at a natural cask strength of 57.7% with a yield of just 257 bottles.
We can't get enough of cask strength Islay whisky here, and this is definitely one to add to our whisky cabinet.

Tasting Notes
Alistair's Tasting Notes
Colour: Golden straw.
Nose: Autumnal. Sweet peat and char. Chimney smoke. Very soft medicinal Islay notes emerge.
Taste: A lovely pleasant sweetness on the palate - butterscotch and custard creams in sync with the peaty, phenolic flavours. Sweet barbeque - crispy bacon on pancakes doused with maple syrup. Salted popcorn. Peppery notes reveal themselves on addition of water.
Finish: Sweet, and a little spicy.
