The Hearach is the inaugural single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris distillery in the Outer Hebrides, which opened in 2015.
This Isle of Harris Hearach island single malt whisky is a limited edition single malt with a medium peating level (14ppm) and was bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration after maturation for at least five years in predominantly ex-bourbon casks from Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace, with 15% Oloroso and Fino sherry casks for balance and complexity.
It's always great to see the first single malt whisky from a new distillery, and the tiny Isle of Harris distillery in Tarbert has been waiting a long time to bring The Hearach to eager whisky fans, so we're delighted it's finally here at last. Congratulations to them and we can't wait to see what's next.
Thoroughly enjoyable, an excellent indicator for future releases from Isle of Harris Distillery. A perfect harmony of flavours, with a whiff of smoke in the finish. Very pleased to have been able to get a bottle.

I haven't managed to taste it yet as I am waiting for a special occasion. But the bottle was beautifully presented. It has an amazing metal horse topper and the glass bottle feels very strong and is also a beautiful shape. The box came in great condition and was packaged very securely. I was surprised how quickly it was delivered. I'd recommend this whisky and this website to everyone.
