Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Murray McDavid 70cl / 44.5%
Murray McDavid's Strathdearn Oloroso Sherry Finish is part of the inaugural release of the company's Cask Craft series that debuted in late 2022. Bottled at a smooth-sipping 44.5%, Murray McDavid's Cask Craft series is a great value range of classic and unusual cask finished drams.
Please note that Strathdearn is a name used for some independent bottlings of single malt from Tomatin distillery - not to be confused with the tiny Strathearn distillery owned by Murray McDavid's fellow indie bottlers Douglas Laing.
|Cask Type||Oloroso Sherry|
Official Tasting Notes
The classic style of whisky maturation in Spanish oloroso sherry casks, with this Strathdearn spirit, has produced a symphony of luscious, rich and fruity flavours with a long finish of praline and mellow sweet spice.
Took a punt on this at £32 and really was not disappointed. Beautiful and rich on the nose and full of flavour on the palate! I later found out this is Tomatin. You need to try this.
We tried this bottle for the first time and I have to say it didn't dissapoint. After the first few sips it appeared to have a sharpish aftertaste but that was quickly gone. Overall a good taste . Would I buy it again? YES...
