This 2006 Royal Brackla 15-year-old ended its maturation in Cask 1802, a hogshead that formerly held the Portuguese fortified wine Madeira, which is not dissimilar to sherry. Cask 1802 yielded 313 bottles at a very promising cask strength of 57.2%.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Rich amber.
Nose: Fresh, floral and fragrant – a sauvignon blanc-esque nose. Light vanilla notes in the background. Battenburg cake.
Palate: Honeycomb, Demerara sugar and Madagascan vanilla. Butterscotch and toffee. Shortbread. Poached fruits and home baking - Pecan apple crumble. A huge hit of coffee crème Revels - which can only be a good thing, right?
