Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 40%
A lovely old bottle of Rosebank 1988 bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 1997 for their Connoisseurs Choice series. Until quite recently it was assumed that these might be among the last young Rosebanks ever bottled but thankfully that's no longer the case - although we'll have to wait a few more years before there's any malts this age from the new distillery.
Rosebank was a much misunderstood distillery in its original lifetime, with the general wisdom being that it peaked at around 8 years old and deteriorated after that - an idea that was completely blown out of the water by the stunning long-aged Rare Malts editions that appeared shortly after this G&M Rosebank 1988 was released. The truth is that Rosebank's distillate was brilliant at both young and old ages, so this will be a great malt to enjoy while we're waiting for the revived Rosebank's new whisky to appear.
