Single Malt Welsh Whisky
Bottled by: Berry Bros & Rudd 70cl / 57.9%
A very special Penderyn 2013, which remarkably is the first ever Welsh whisky to be bottled by our eminent chums at Berry Brothers & Rudd. A historic moment indeed.
This 8-year-old Penderyn came from a single barrel of the Welsh distillery's 2013 vintage that underwent a transformative finishing period in a Madeira cask before being bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.9%, yielding just 275 bottles. Don't sleep on this one.
Please note that BBR's 2013 Penderyn 8-year-old is Maximum One Bottle Per Customer.

Official Tasting Notes
Nose: A warming spicy nose offers notes of sweet Madeira, Victoria Sponge and lashings of golden syrup. A little time in the glass allows the distillate to power through bringing some green apple and barley sugars into the equation.
Palate: The chewy palate shows a good balance of sweet sticky dried fruit notes from the cask balanced off with fresher citrus bursts and perhaps a little nuttiness on the back palate.
A well made whisky that delivers well in the powerful cask.
