This 8-year-old Miltonduff 2015 came from a small batch of first fill bourbon barrels and was bottled at 100 UK Proof, equivalent to 57.1% alcohol by volume. These potent everyday Speyside drams from Signatory are great value and are setting a challenge to their competitors - the time feels right for a proper trend of high strength, unadulterated malt whiskies at sensible prices.
Love Miltonduff malt whisky but normally out of my price range.
This one from the Signatory 100 Proof Series although only eight years old tastes superb and is excellent value for money.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
